Found this on my desk. My daughter said that she had traced it from her phone (It’s so cute!). It’s the little nothings they do you know. I believe God puts our children in our lives to speak to us. To show us..many things actually.
A couple days ago me and my daughter were helping our only friend pack up her truck so she could leave out of state with her 5 kids.
Suddenly her little boy said “look mommy! I broke a stick” we quickly acknowledged him and looked away. We were busy. I paused and had a thought (but wait) then her little girl says right after “look what I found mommy!” She had a lady bug running around her little hand.
A little later the oldest (9 yr old) asked me “do you know that song, I can see sunshine, I can smell rain” I said yes. She said something like “I keep thinking about it and keep singing it.
Here was my thought, “wow, in such a not so good time as this, these kids are drawing and unknowingly trying to grab our attention to remind us of the little things that seem so insignificant, it yet bring us down to the reality of life. The simplicity of what truly brings one joy and enjoying what we have at arms length, like a ray of sunshine trying to burst through our clouded minds.
Really? breaking a stick? As I passed by her little girl, I thought, oh no, I wouldn’t do that now, because now I understand them to be bugs and I don’t like bugs.
But then, I used to love finding little red lady bugs and having them walk all over my hand too….
I think we should have stopped and broke that stick again, and after that, we should’ve had our turn letting that lady bug run freely on our hands, and after that, I should’ve looked up at the sky, yea. I’m going to go draw now. Bye.
